I saw the previous message from 2021 about this exact same thing, and I took the advice of turning off automatic and just checking the box manually to send push notification per message which worked fine for a couple of days, but now it has gotten worse, and sent out 3 messages instead of 1. (I was initially getting the 2 at a time)
